Ask and you shall receive!

Image
Its true what they say - ask and you shall receive. I must have heard it a million times in my life but truly today is the first time that I am actually realising what it means. And NO , I am not talking in some super natural surreal way, how one thing led to another and how "the universe gave me what I asked for", but in a more realistic and literal way of just asking ! Throughout our lives we try to get our way, one way or the other, the super brain of ours works those electromagnetic brain waves in analysing the best way of convincing someone to give us what we want. The other day, we were in class and our teacher asked if we had any classes further that day as she wanted some time to take up another topic. Most students (barring some geeks likes me :) ) had the automated "no" reply ready so that to avoid sitting for another class. The teacher was not convinced as she could damn well see the lying, conniving faces of the students. She started enquiring about...

Get Your Life Back - Part 2 - Reconnecting with yourself

Image
In my last blog I discussed how important it is to reconnect with mother nature to harmonise your life and flow of your energy called "prana". Re-aligning yourself with your centre can be achieved by following these 4 simple ways: 1. Look Back Remember a moment in your earlier life when you felt truly happy, healthy, safe & relaxed. It could be memories of your childhood, your adolescence or when you got married. Try to re-live those moments, those memories so much so that all those emotions fill you up again and you literally find yourself swimming in those happy thoughts. Then, while reliving those emotions ask your conscious to come back to your current life and try to overlay your current condition with those pleasant feelings. 2. Look Forward Take some time out for yourself. Relax, go for a massage or just take a nap. Then think about ways you can simplify your life. You are sure to find ways you can eliminate, or postpone or reduce your chores; and ...

Get your life back !

Image
An average adult woman is a manager. She tries to manage her life - her partner, her children, her finances, her work. In doing so, she loses herself. This leads to the fragmentation of her "prana" - the energy flow of her life. Fragmentation does not only happen when your life seems to be falling apart, it can happen without you even realising it. Sometimes it gets masked by some of the things going really well in your life (maybe your job for instance), it might take a major imbalance to make you notice the other parts of your life (like your emotional well being ) going completely disarray. The natural flow of a woman is closely aligned with the flow of nature. The fact that a woman is capable of giving life, makes the connection with nature even more clear. Mother nature not only provides her daughter with strength and endurance, she also heals her in every way possible. But the more you start losing yourself and the more you stop listening to yourself; the m...

Guide for an awesome Trip to McLeodGanj, Himachal Pradesh, India

Image
McLeodganj is a city mainly serving as a civilian settlement, It is also the Tibetan Government-in-exile headquarters. With a diverse history McLeodganj is not a very unusual tourist spot in India, however to explore the city and its surroundings and in the process discovering the true bliss the city holds is in fact quite unusual.  There are 2 ways to get this city – either try your luck in the limited time you might have in the city or the other way is to take a cue from my 6 day trip from Delhi to McLeodganj and take it forward from there. So here it is: Day 1 Travelling from Delhi to McLeodganj If you read about the best way to travel from Delhi to McLeod, you will be flooded with a plethora of options. Some would say flights, some trains and some buses. The flight and train are not direct travel options, but the bus is. While I was researching to make a decision on how to travel, I kept fiddling with different ideas, I mainly wanted comfort and safety, my bud...

Reality is stranger than fiction - True Story

Image
For those of you who follow my blogs and were expecting the third part of my trilogy - Series of unexpected events, a life altering experience, big apology as before I could get the time to write the third part of my blog, I was called in again to India…this time it wasn’t planned, it was a call which I hope no one ever receives and then suffers through the anxiety of the 8ish hour flight to India, alone. Speculating the possibilities of negatives and positives hovering like a pendulum. I distinctly remember the day, I had launched a new collection of products my facebook page and was super excited, it was a beautiful Saturday. I had started getting so many responses for my collection, it was perfect. It was like I am in a lovely musical, but soon enough the song ended as I received a call from India. It was my brother on the other side, he informed me that my father was not doing well, he is in the ICU and that I should come. I didn’t waste a minute in booking my tickets, apo...

My first trip to India as a non-Indian Part 2 – “Krishna Nahi Krishnarenu hi sahi” – A Godly Experience

Image
For those who read part 1, I needn’t explain, but for those smart ones who skipped and jumped to part 2 of my blog, I guess some kind of connective explanation is in order. Sorry I am not trying to undermine the efforts of those who endeavoured to read part 1 ( I really appreciate it!), but I am a realist and I understand the ways of the world (Oh! Wise old me! J ). So this is the second part of my blog about my trip to India where a series of unexpected life altering events made my trip memorable. After the all so exhilaratingly superb couple of weeks where I kept busy with my event in Delhi and Jaipur, and also went to my best friend’s impromptu engagement function, it so happened that just after, I was invited to the World Culture Festival. It was once in a lifetime opportunity where I would be seated next to the great Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji himself, one of the most powerful spiritual leaders of the world and I would also be privy to a historic moment where more than 30,000 a...

My first trip to India as a non-Indian - Part 1 – Once in a lifetime!

Image
There are different kinds of trips that you take in your life apart from the usual holiday or business categories– some are hectic, some are quick, some are customary, some are purely business, some are pleasure mixed with business etc. and then there are the rare ones which are just simply enriching! My India trip this time was a pretty good mix of almost all of the above categories, just add to it a scoop full of coincidences and a hint of uncertainty and voila! There you ll have it – the perfect description of my trip.  My reason to visit India has always been to meet family and friends and then, more family and more friends (Interestingly people in India are hard to say no to and as a matter of fact no logical argument stands a chance once you are invited at someone’s home, either you hate it or love it. Hate it because you might feel frustrated and irritated by the irrational behaviour of forcefully holding a lunch or dinner or even breakfast for you even after knowing ...
