The cupid hits - Post Marriage Part II

Its been an year. And what a wonderful year indeed. I guess most of you dont know how we met, me and my husband ( an year from now I wasn't even sure i was ready for a marriage let alone Ankit to be my husband). It all happened in the magical city of Paris. Cupid hit us at exact 12 midnight :).
My family and I had come to europe for a vacation and it was going on so well. We started off with Barcelona, then Gran Canaria and finally i was in Paris - the fashion capital of the world. A place where every street , every road , every piece of rock was so in fashion. As i landed on the Paris Airport - Charles De Gaulle, I had no idea that it would be the day i would meet my Mr. Right. I even didn't know that my parents had set up for us to meet. i mean i knew that like any pair of frenzy parent in the phase of 'finding the groom' my pair of folks were likely to pull off something like this but I had never imagined that they would actually find a partner ( Ankit and his parents) to make it a success :)(but i am so glad they did ).
Anyways, we had just two days to spend in Paris and i was so ready to not waste a second and get on with it. I just needed to take a nap as we were up from 4 in the morning and considering that we slept at midnight i was pretty tired. So i had everything planned in my head. As we drove in the suv from the airport to our hotel, which by the way was situated in the middle of the city (lovely location. i could see the arc de triomphe from there), i sorted out my plan - take a warm bath, sleep for an hour like a baby in the sweet bed of our 'hotel arc de triomphe', wake up, get dressed and explore Paris. It felt like the best plan ever. Who knew that just when we checked in my parents would drop the bomb ( as parents usually do). I was told that some bloke from London was here and we were suppose to meet. Noooooooooo.. went inside my head. But being the sweet girl my parents raised me as, i sacrificed my sweet plan. I also admired the courage of that bloke to come from London and meet me all alone with my parents. So i wore my Paris dress ( i had bought it from Delhi, it was so French) and my best smile and went ahead to greet him. There he was in a black -blue suit ,all handsome, ready to impress me. And then he spoke his first word to me - Hi! and I spoke back - 'Hi' :).
My parents and bro were with us and we decided to have lunch. Apparently, Ankit being a vegetarian, my parents were obligated to find an all vegggie place to eat, which my friend, in Paris, is like trying to find a pimple on the face of Miss Universe ( very difficult). So we walked and we walked until I was getting dizzy and all i knew about Ankit was he liked sports and had been to Paris once before as a child ( that was all the conversation we had till that time). Finally my parents settled for Mc Donalds to take a break from all that walking. 'Finally!', i told myself. We were so tired and hungry that pretending to have snacks with a soda we ate all we could and poor ankit had to eat some salad leaf crap :). But the good part was that we were sitting and talking. My parents asked him a lot of questions and they left us for sometime and we also talked. The evening ended soberly. I thanked God to have given me the strength to be a nice girl when all I could think was Paris - shopping - Paris. I came back to my room and changed. Just when i was about to give in to the mortal desire of sleeping like a log the phone bell rang. It was my parents from the reception - another bomb dropped ( I told you parents do that, its their way of testing how well they have raisin their kids, i guess). Ankit had gathered up the courage to ask mom and dad's permission to take me out for a coffee at 10 in the night to talk more. As amazed as i was, i was also an inch close to crack and explode, i wanted to sleeeeeeeeeep. But again, i was a nice person and a nice person does stuff to please other nice people ( argh! i hated it, the only thing that was good was me wearing my Paris jacket. I had bought it from Espirit Paris, during the walk of finding the perfect place for lunch). So i went downstairs and Ankit was waiting for me. We went outside, most of the cafes were closing. We finally found a nice place but they were only serving sodas as their kitchen was closed. 'whatever' i told myself, i just wanted to go back to my comfy bed :). Then we started talking, we talked and talked and talked, until 12 midnight and thats when the cupid hit:). For the first time in the whole day, I felt refreshed, it was amazing. It was like finding the perfect person in the perfect city. I never wanted the night to end. As Ankit's mobile rang and I knew it was dad wanting me to come back, i was wishing i wouldn't.
6th of July 2010, the day when I met Ankit. A whole year has gone by, and today 6th of July 2011, as I sit in a hukka bar enjoying on a perfect summer night, after having a perfect Persian dinner with Ankit celebrating the day, the cupid has hit again, the only difference is that this time we are in London and married :)
